Guided steelhead fishing on Bronte Creek
Bronte Creek is a smaller Lake Ontario tributary than the Credit, and that is the whole point of fishing it. Migratory steelhead and trout push into the lower system in spring and fall, and there is good access to portions of that lower water.
Because the creek is more confined than the Credit, everything tightens up. Float control matters more. Your approach matters more. You cannot fix a bad drift with extra room, because there is no extra room.
Natural barriers further upstream, around the falls above the lower system, stop migratory fish carrying on much beyond it — which concentrates the fishing rather than spreading it thin.
It is also the river to ask about when the Credit is blown out. Smaller systems clear at a different rate.

Seasons and regulations
Spring — March through May and fall — October through December are the guided windows, following the migratory runs.
Portions of the Bronte system carry seasonal closures as well as the general regulations. This is not a river to guess on.
Open seasons, sanctuary stretches and special rules vary by river and by section, and they change. Always check the current Ontario Fishing Regulations Summary for the water you are fishing. On a guided day, Sasha picks water that is legally open and in shape for the conditions.
We do not publish specific pools, runs or access points. That is deliberate — the water Sasha relies on stays fishable because it is not broadcast. You will learn it on the river.

Is Bronte worth fishing if I can fish the Credit?
Yes — particularly when the Credit is high or crowded. Bronte is smaller water with a different character, and the skills it demands are more transferable than people expect.
Is it good for a first steelhead trip?
The Lower Credit is usually the better first trip because there is more room to cast and to fight a fish. Bronte makes an excellent second trip once your float control is reliable.
How far up does the run go?
Migratory fish use the lower system; natural barriers further upstream stop them going much beyond it. That concentration is part of what makes the lower water worth fishing.
When does Bronte fish best?
Spring and fall, with the migratory runs. Some sections of the system also carry seasonal closures, so it is water where checking the current regulations genuinely matters.
